Visitors to the Manukau Heads Lighthouse and its beautiful natural setting, feel a sense of reconnection with nature.
Upon arrival, you will experience the serenity of the well-kept gardens, native bushes and iconic west-coast flax that provide protection from buffeting winds skimming from the Tasman coastline. During the summer season, mobile caterers situated at the base usually provide options of food and drink, but we suggest you bring a bottle of water just in case.
Please bring suitable attire to manage the 125 step ascention, and the further 23 interior steps, providing you a sense of accomplishment once reaching the ‘eye’ of our lighthouse. Then step outside, take a deep breath and absorb the stunning 360o views on offer.
